The parish in the village of Vyatka was established even before the church was built, which was erected in the early 20th century during the Stolypin reforms. The Vyatka church remained open longer than others, and it is said that the ancient icon of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker from Ust-Ishim was recently located here. Local residents remember this large icon, but its current whereabouts are unknown.

In 1929, priest Alexei Kamnev and psalmist Kalistrat Glukhovtsev moved to the village of Vyatka with their families. Residents still recall their kindness and willingness to help, despite their own hardships.

In 1937, the Bolsheviks closed the church in Vyatka. Father Alexei was shot, never admitting guilt or renouncing his faith. The same fate befell Kalistrat Glukhovtsev.

The revival of the parish in Vyatka began only in 1996, when only a few houses and a dilapidated church remained at the site of the village. Now this place once again brings spiritual joy to people: several churches have been consecrated here, including the church in honor of the Protection of the Holy Virgin, the church in honor of the New Martyrs of Omsk, and a wooden chapel in honor of St. Seraphim of Sarov.

Since 2005, the Vyatka church has become the northern skete of the Holy-Nikolsky Monastery.
