Not far from St. Petersburg lies the ancient village of Kotly, known for the partially ruined Albrecht estate. However, there is another attraction here, the St. Nicholas the Wonderworker Church, built in 1880.

This magnificent stone church was erected with funds from the last owner of the estate from the Albrecht family and donations from local peasants. The project was developed by the well-known architect Nikonov, who created a church with a single dome and bell tower.

In 1937, the church was closed, and from 1941 to 1942, Soviet prisoners of war were housed within its walls. After the war, the church functioned for a time, but in December 1959, it was closed again. Later, a rural club was located here. Only in 1991 was the St. Nicholas the Wonderworker Church restored and returned to the believers.
