In Zlynka, the construction of churches of the Russian Orthodox Old Believer Church has been ongoing for several years: the Cathedral of Archangel Michael and the Church of St. Great Martyr Nikita. Previously, until the 1930s, there stood a church of St. Great Martyr Nikita on the shore of Zlynka Lake, which was repurposed into an orphanage during Soviet times and later destroyed. For a long time, the site was overgrown. Only the remaining gates, which also need restoration, remind of its former glory. Now, parishioners are engaged in restoring the shrine: the area has been cleared and prepared for construction, documents have been processed, and foundations for the two churches have been laid.

On August 4, 2018, an important event took place: Metropolitan of Moscow and All Russia Cornelius visited the construction site of the churches with an archpastoral visit. Two churches were laid for the Zlynka community. A prayer service was held for Archangel Michael and St. Great Martyr Nikita according to the rite of laying a new church, and crosses were installed at the sites of the future altars. Metropolitan Cornelius was assisted by the dean of the parishes of Bryansk region, the rector of the Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos in Novozybkov, Priest Sergey Bedny, the rector of the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord in Klintsy, Priest Mikhail Smirnov, and Deacon Vasily Andronikov from Moscow.
