The St. Michael the Archangel Church in the village of Verkhnye Kasinovo, Kursk region, was built in 1892, as confirmed by archival data. This wooden building is clad in metal on the outside. In 1940, local authorities closed the parish, and according to residents, there were plans to blow up the church. However, the chairman of the collective farm, risking imprisonment, filled it with grain. He convinced the sapper that the building was necessary for grain storage, and thus the church was preserved. Services in the church resumed on August 1, 1946, and continue to this day.
