The Church of St. Michael the Archangel in Pokoynoye was built in 1756 and is a monument of history and culture with religious significance. At one point, the church was used as a grain storage facility and was partially looted around 1933. After the end of World War II from 1941 to 1945, services in the church were resumed.

The feast day is celebrated on November 21, the church has one altar, and the Iveron Icon of the Mother of God is venerated. The rector is Priest Kuznetsov Ioann Alexandrovich.

Information about the church was provided by a cleric of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God Church in Budennovsk, editor of the deanery newspaper "Holy Cross," Priest Dmitry Morozov.

I would like to note that the church existed 40 years before the founding of the city of Holy Cross, where there was not a single Orthodox church until 1879, and 20 years before Stavropol received city status. It is likely one of the oldest Orthodox churches in the Stavropol Diocese.
