The church, built in 1890 on the estate of the Pehovskys, was consecrated in honor of the Archangel Michael. It is known that before the revolution, there were two coffins in the church's basement. One contained the remains of the landowner Pehovsky, while the identity of the second person is unknown. During the Soviet era, the building was used as the administration of a collective farm, and the coffins from the basement were moved to the nearest cemetery.

A decision was made to dismantle the church, but due to the sturdy masonry, the work progressed slowly. They then decided to convert the building into a club, only demolishing the upper part, while the main structure remained. The church is now fully restored and operational.

In 1948, St. Theodosius of the Caucasus was buried in the cemetery adjacent to the village of Lenin in Mineral Waters. On the fiftieth anniversary of his death, his relics were transferred to the main church of the city, the Cathedral of the Protection of the Holy Virgin. However, many believers continue to visit the site of his original burial, where, according to tradition, miracles occurred. The pilgrimage begins with a visit to the chapel, then to the Church of the Archangel Michael, and concludes at the Cathedral of the Protection of the Holy Virgin.

In 1999, a small baptismal church was consecrated in honor of St. Theodosius the Miracle Worker. The main shrine of the church is a part of the relics of St. Theodosius, kept in a specially made reliquary.
