The Church of the Archistrategos Michael, majestically rising on the banks of the Gustomoya River, was built in 1833 in Gustomoye. Its construction was financed by Princess Maria Fedorovna Baryatinskaya in memory of her husband Ivan Ivanovich, the founder of the Maryino estate in the village of Ivanovskoye near Rylsk. Initially, this stone church with a bell tower and porticos was named after John the Baptist. In the mid-1990s, it received its current name by the blessing of Archbishop Juvenaly of Kursk and Rylsk, and restoration began at that time. The period of anti-religious persecution, when the church lost its bell tower, parts of the porticos, decorations, and even its roof, is only recalled by the eastern part of the building, which is still not covered with white plaster. Because of this, it is also called the White Church, as the red brick and old iron ties are visible there. The wall painting is done by local artist and Sunday school teacher Alexey Usachev.
