On August 5, 1999, the day of veneration of the icon of the Mother of God of Pochaev, a water blessing service was held at the site of the future Saint Alexander Nevsky Church. The future rector blessed the workers to begin construction, and the first scoop of earth for the foundation was dug.

Four days later, on August 9, the day of Saint Great Martyr and Healer Panteleimon, Archbishop Juvenaly of Kursk and Rylsk (now deceased) consecrated the cornerstone at the site of the future church in the village of Konyshyovka.

The church, built in the center of the village according to the design of Kursk architect Alexander Danilov, became the first in Konyshyovka.
