The Church of Andrew the Apostle in the village of Aidar was built in 2008 on the site of a destroyed church from the early 19th century.

The first church in the settlement of Aidar was constructed in 1807 and was named after St. George. In 1856, it was reconstructed and renamed the Assumption Church, adding chapels: on the right, St. George the Great Martyr and Empress Alexandra, and on the left, St. Mitrophan of Voronezh.

On December 13, 2008, the Church of the Apostle Andrew the First-Called was opened in the village of Aidar. This five-domed church is a vivid example of wooden architecture.

The consecration and Divine Liturgy in the new wooden church were conducted by Archbishop John of Belgorod and Stary Oskol, along with the clergy of the Rovenki deanery.

The parish serves the Cossacks of the Rovenki Cossack stanitsa society. A Sunday school for children operates at the church. In 2013, a Orthodox youth rock band "Jordan" was formed based at the church, actively engaging in missionary work through musical creativity. The parish also takes care of shifts for the children's health camp "Aidar" every year.
