In the "Clerical Report of the Suzhdalsky District for the 1st Deanery for the year 1916," it is noted that in 1879, a stone church with one altar, consecrated in honor of St. Basil the Great, was built in the village of Pushkarno, thanks to the efforts of the parishioners. In 1893, an iconostasis worth 5900 rubles was installed through donations. The author of the church's design is unknown, but its architectural solution reflects outstanding talent. The Church of St. Basil the Great is recognized as a monument of cultural heritage of regional significance according to the decree of the Governor of the Kursk Region dated January 30, 1998, No. 566.

The architectural style of the church is described in the materials of the local history museum of the city of Suzhy and the State Inspection of the Kursk Region. The church is built in a cross-dome system with a round altar apse and a tent-like bell tower above the narthex. The church has five onion-shaped domes on octagonal two-tiered drums, the main one being the light drum. The central dome is located on the light drum, while the other parts are covered with barrel vaults with ribs, and the side domes are blind. The dome rotunda is supported by four pylons with arches. The two-tiered bell tower is adorned with an onion-shaped dome with a short spire and half-columns. The decor includes friezes, pilasters, and arches made of brick. The windows have arched finishes. The building is made of brick (29x14x7) on a lime-sand mortar, and the roof is covered with galvanized iron. The walls are painted in gray-blue with white columns and decorative elements, incorporating elements of 17th-century Russian architecture.

According to the "Reference Book on Churches, Parishes, and Clergy of the Kursk Province for 1908" and the clerical report, the Church of St. Basil the Great is located in the village of Pushkarno, 95 versts from Kursk and 10 versts from Suzhy. The nearest churches were the Mitrofanovskaya in the village of Bondarevka (5 versts) and the Pyatnitskaya in the village of Martynovka (4 versts).

In 1908, the parish of the Church of St. Basil the Great belonged to the 2nd Deanery of the Suzhdalsky District, and in 1916, to the 1st, which was part of the Kursk Diocese. The parish united the believers of the village of Pushkarno and the village of Russian Konopelka. In 1916, there were 227 households in Pushkarno with 885 women and 894 men, and in Russian Konopelka, 143 households with 555 men and 563 women. In the village, there was a chapel made from a wooden church in the cemetery. The parish had two zemstvo schools: in Pushkarno (since 1880) and in Russian Konopelka (since 1892). The church clergy consisted of a priest, a deacon, and a psalmist.

In the 1920s, the church remained active. In 1924, the religious society of the Basil Church was re-registered. From April 1939, services ceased. In June 1940, the church was closed and repurposed for cultural needs. The building was used as a grain storage facility, crosses were removed, the fence was demolished, and the church house fell into disrepair. During the war, the church was not damaged. At the request of the parishioners, it was reopened, and the community's activities resumed. The religious association was registered on September 1, 1944.

In 1967 and from December 1969 to September 1970, services were not held due to the absence of a priest. In subsequent years, the church remained active.

On January 3, 1992, the Orthodox parish of the Holy Basil Church of the Kursk-Belgorod Diocese was registered in Pushkarno. On November 16, 1999, the parish was registered with the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation in the Kursk Region.
