The St. Nicholas Church in the village of Velikomikhaylovka, built in an eclectic style, was constructed in the early 20th century. It was closed in the 1930s, but during World War II, the church reopened its doors and has remained open since then.

At the turn of the 20th century, in addition to the Nicholas Church, three other churches functioned in Velikomikhaylovka: the wooden Pokrovsky Church, built in 1776, the brick Uspensky Church, constructed in 1799, and the brick Kazan Church, dated to 1872.

Only the Nicholas Church, built in 1900, has survived to this day. In 1907, its parish had 2,260 members, and both church and zemstvo schools operated here.

During the Soviet period, the St. Nicholas the Wonderworker Church was closed and partially looted, and the building suffered significant damage during the war.

Restoration of the church was carried out in 2003. Today, it is a monument of architecture.
