The St. Nicholas Church in the village of Samarina was built in the early 20th century in an eclectic style. Previously, an old brick Nicholas church, consecrated on May 9, 1862, stood on this site. Over time, it fell into disrepair and was dismantled. In 1904, a new stone church was erected in its place. This brick church consists of a two-light square base with a refectory and a bell tower. In the 1930s, all valuables were removed from the church, and services ceased. In the 1980s, after renovations, services at the St. Nicholas the Wonderworker Church were resumed.
