Pyoldino, one of the oldest villages in the Komi Republic. It is first mentioned in the Charter of 1485, which speaks of the existence of the St. Nicholas the Wonderworker Monastery on the Sysola River, in an area then known as Pylda.

A century later, in 1586, the monastery no longer existed, but a wooden church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker stood in the Pychlda parish. Around the parish were 20 villages and 14 hamlets. In the late 16th and 17th centuries, an important Siberian road passed through the Pyold parish, and there was a post station where horses and guides were changed.

The village of Pyoldino and the village of Vichkodor, whose name translates to "near the church," are connected to the church built in 1850, also dedicated to St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. In 1861, priest Dmitry Klochkoff opened the first literacy school in Pyoldino in his home.
