The church in the village of Nikolaevka in the Veydelevsky district, built in the 19th century, is a monument of architecture and culture of federal significance. The St. Nicholas Church, which has three altars, was erected in 1896 and is considered the largest and oldest in the area. Its construction, funded by parishioners, lasted 15 years. A bust of Tsar Nicholas II was installed next to the church, and over time a cemetery appeared around it, of which only two graves have survived.

During the Soviet era, the church was looted, closed, and the bell tower was destroyed. Before the war, the building was used as a grain storage facility for the collective farm. During the war, the church was reopened for services, and since then it has remained active. By the end of the 20th century, the church fell into disrepair.

For a long time, parishioners hoped for the restoration of their majestic church. On January 16, 2012, Archbishop John of Belgorod and Stary Oskol consecrated the restored church in honor of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. The restoration work was funded by the management of the Prioskolye company, and the bells were specially cast for this church in Voronezh.
