Until 1838, there was a wooden church in the village of Morachevo, built in 1761 at the initiative of the landowner Bezobrazov. In 1838, this church burned down. Between 1849 and 1850, a new stone church was built with funds from landowner Natalia Dmitrievna Pryazhentseva and her estate manager, Moscow merchant Alexei Alexandrovich Borodin, dedicated to St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, just like the previous one. There were no side altars in it. Only its ruins have survived to this day.
