The Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, located in the center of the village on the right bank of the Ipyt River, was built in 1815 at the request of the landowner Major F.D. Shiray and his wife Praskovya Petrovna. The architect was most likely Giacomo Quarenghi, although some researchers believe that the project may have been authored by N.A. Lvov. It is known that after the death of one of her sons, Praskovya Petrovna settled at the church and lived there until her death in 1845, adhering to a strict monastic vow. The bricks and timber for the construction of the Nicholas Church were delivered by rafts along the river. The masonry turned out to be so strong that during the years of persecution against the church, only part of the building was destroyed. After its closure and looting, the cathedral was handed over to the district education department. Subsequently, it housed school workshops and then a fertilizer storage. Today, the church in Kazarichi belongs to the parish of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos in the village of Gordeevka. By the blessing of Bishop Theophilact of Bryansk and Sevsk, the Orthodox community is being revived in Kazarichi.
