Originally, the church was wooden and was built in 1694 by Vasily Chernychev on his land. In 1707, V.E. Chernychev requested permission to construct a stone church dedicated to Nicholas the Wonderworker. He was supported by co-owners, chamberlains I.P. Bobrishchev-Pushkin and P.L. Bobrishchev-Pushkin, who in the same year petitioned for the construction of a new church "of Nicholas the Wonderworker in the cabbages in the Medyn district, in the Vezhevsky stan."

The brick church with a single altar was built by decree in 1723. The church was renovated in the 1890s. Around 1940, the Bolsheviks closed the parish and repurposed the building for collective farm needs. Until 1992, gas cylinders were stored here, and now the church is in ruins. Only the remodeled refectory with the protruding volume of the narthex remains, where traces of baroque decor can still be seen.
