The Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker was built in the center of the village in 1864 with funds from local residents. In 1875, it was expanded, and in 1908 and 1909, it was dismantled to build a new, larger Nicholas Church on the same site. The church had an altar dedicated to St. George the Victorious.

In 1886, a men's one-class church school opened at the church, followed by a women's school in 1897. Both schools were located in specially constructed buildings funded by the church and the community. The church has preserved its original appearance, including intricately crafted domes, stone walls, an internal colonnade, a bell tower, and crosses. The floor inside the church, which has survived to this day, is laid with ancient tiles. Although the original iconostasis has been lost, some native icons have been preserved. Many of the church's icons were donated by the residents of Dmitrievskoye.

Among the icons are particularly revered and unique specimens from the 17th century. A luxurious chandelier hangs under the dome. Majestic columns, elegant stucco, remnants of ancient painting, the iconostasis, a huge dome, and tall windows create an atmosphere of solemnity. After the 1917 revolution, the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker was not closed but was used as a grain storage facility. In the 1990s, the church was returned to the faithful and restored.
