Not far from the current Dimitrova Street, previously known as Kondyrevskaya, there was Radishcheva Street, formerly called Florovskaya. Here were located the Nikolaevskaya and Florovskaya churches. The wooden Nikolaevskaya church is mentioned in documents from 1641, 1659, and 1661.

In 1763, a stone church was built on the site of the wooden one. The main construction was completed in 1771, and the main altar was consecrated in 1782, even before the bell tower was finished. Chapels were added in 1809 and 1843. The tent of the bell tower and the narthex were finally completed by 1900. Due to its proximity to the city market, the church became known as Nikolaevskaya na torgu. In 1935, the church was closed. During the construction of building number six on Red Square, known as 'Shestorka', the church was demolished, and the bricks were used to build a circus on Red Square in 1937.
