In 2009, the construction of an Orthodox church in honor of Saint George the Victorious began on the territory of the Oryol Regional Clinical Hospital named after MOPR. The first step was the laying of the foundation and the installation of a commemorative stone.
The construction of the church was carried out with the support of the Oryol branch of the United Russia party, with the participation of the Oryol Regional Clinical Hospital, the Oryol-Liven Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church, and thanks to voluntary donations from the residents of Oryol.
On October 10, 2016, Metropolitan Anthony of Oryol and Bolkhov conducted the rite of great consecration of the church, which was named in honor of the confessor Luke of Crimea (Voyno-Yasenetsky).
