St. Luke's Chapel at the City Hospital in Kurchatov

On November 21, 2012, on the Day of the Assembly of the Archangel Michael and other Heavenly Powers, the construction of a chapel in honor of St. Luke the Confessor, Archbishop of Simferopol, began at the territory of the FGBUZ MSCh-125.

The initiative for the construction belongs to the Head of the FMBA of Russia, Vladimir Viktorovich Uibe, and the Chief of FGBUZ MSCh-125, Vladimir Alekseevich Shcherbakov, who received the blessing of His Eminence German, Metropolitan of Kursk and Rylsk.

The project for the chapel was created by architect Alexey Georgievich Kolesnikov.

The ceremony of consecrating the foundation of the chapel was attended by clergymen from the Moscow and Kursk dioceses, led by the dean of the Kurchatov district, Archpriest Roman Bratchik. A stone with an image of an eight-pointed cross was laid in the foundation, under which a capsule with a bronze foil sheet was placed, engraved with information about the start of construction. A cross was installed on the eastern side of the altar.

The consecration was attended by the Head of the city, Igor Vladimirovich Korpunkov, representatives of the city administration and FMBA of Russia, employees of FGBUZ MSCh-125, and numerous residents of the city of Kurchatov.
