The Church of Athanasius of Alexandria in the village of Kosilovo was built in 2001, and a bell tower was installed in January 2006.

The church in Kosilovo was built twice. The second time it happened after a fire. The church was consecrated in honor of St. Athanasius of Alexandria.

In 1937, a meeting of residents discussed the issue of demolishing the church to build a secondary school. Under the influence of agitation, a decision was made to demolish the church. Teachers and activists removed the cross and the bell. Locals recall that during the destruction of the bell tower, the bell and cross made moaning sounds. The church was demolished, and construction of the school began, but the work was not completed. On June 22, 1941, the war began, and in October, German troops arrived and dismantled the unfinished school to create dugouts and fortifications.

Next to the church was a watchman's hut, which housed a parish school with two classes for students from the first to the fourth grade.

In 1998, a decision was made to convert the watchman's hut into a church. Donations were collected, and the construction of the church was completed.
