Фото 1
The Church of Athanasius and Cyril, dedicated to the Alexandrian patriarchs, is located on a hill by the road in the center of an ancient village. In the early 17th century, there stood a wooden church of Peter and Paul, which was replaced by the church of Athanasius and Cyril in 1736. In 1812, it was completely rebuilt with funds from Major General Mikhail Petrovich Bakhtin. The main shrine of the church was considered to be the icon of the Bogolyubskaya Mother of God. The stone church in honor of Saints Athanasius and Cyril, preserved to this day, was erected according to a project approved by the construction committee, funded by parishioners. Construction was carried out under the supervision of a committee of trustees from the peasants, by local craftsmen from Bryansk and Pochep between 1901 and 1905. The architect was Nikolai Andreevich Lebedev.

During the Soviet era, the church was closed and fell into disrepair. In the early 21st century, restoration work began.
