The temple of St. Hieromartyr Charalampius was built in the late 19th century by Greeks who migrated from Stavropol and founded Krasnaya Polyana. It was a wooden structure. The first rector of the temple was Father Abraham Triandafylidis, who tragically died in 1905 on a rocky section of the road in Krasnaya Polyana. After him, until the end of the 1920s, his nephew, Father Jacob Triandafylidis, served, who was arrested around 1928. In the late 1930s, authorities opposed to religion ordered the temple to be destroyed. Sacred items were looted, and icons were burned.
