The Church of the Meeting of the Lord is located in the village of Shylador, a small village in the Sludsk rural council of the Syktyvdin district. The village is situated on a hill, offering views of the green expanses of the region and the Pozheg River. In winter, the white-blue snow shines here. The first mention of the village of Shylador dates back to 1782.

The Church of the Meeting of the Lord was built in 1895. At that time, many churches bore this name. The Feast of the Meeting of the Lord is one of the oldest in Christian tradition. Although no more than 600 people lived in Shylador, they were deeply religious and held the Meeting Church in high regard. The church building was one-story and wooden. The church utensils were gradually collected and modest. The Meeting Church was connected to the Ipatiev Church and received part of its icons from it.

In the 20th century, the village experienced both development and decline. In the 1960s, there was a collective farm and a timber point here, the village was lively, and residents received good salaries. However, the Church of the Meeting of the Lord was no longer functioning. With the onset of perestroika, a new era began, and today the village is almost deserted.

In July 2015, the villagers cut the Meeting Church into firewood, and by July 15, 2015, only the altar part remained.
