The parish of the Transfiguration of the Lord in the village of Kalinino, Orlovsky District, Orlov Region, was founded in 1904. At that time, the settlement was called the Luplenykh farm. An unknown benefactor sent two wagons of larch to the Stanovoy Kolodez station for the construction of the church. With the blessing of the diocesan archbishop, work began, with active participation from local residents. The church was completed in 1906 and consecrated in August by Metropolitan Seraphim (Chichagov). The first rector was Priest Euphimiy Vetrov. The parish included the villages of Topkoye, Stanovoye, and the farms of Naborny and Kazinovka. In 1910, thanks to the efforts of Fr. Euphimiy, a one-class church school was opened, and the parish became numerous.

With the arrival of the new authorities, persecution of the Orthodox Church began. In 1937, Priest Euphimiy Vetrov was repressed, and the church was closed. The building was used as a grain storage facility.

During the German-Fascist occupation in early 1942, the church was reopened, and after a five-year hiatus, an Easter service was held, gathering many people. From 1942 to 1953, the rector was Fr. Pavel, and in different years, the parish was led by Fr. German, Fr. Julian, Fr. Simeon, and Fr. Isidor.

In the spring of 1967, at the initiative of local authorities, the church was declared emergency and closed. In April of the same year, its destruction began. The church could not be demolished for several days, but by sawing the lower logs and pulling them out with tractors, the bell tower was toppled. The logs from the church were used to build a boarding school, which burned down two years later. Local residents tried to save the icons, but most of them were destroyed.

Archival data about the church has not survived. Historical information was gathered from the words of the last church elder, Antonina Stavtseva, who passed away in 2011. A significant contribution to the restoration of the church was made by church elder Ivan Grigoryevich Nevrov, and the residents of the village of Stanovoye provide substantial assistance to the parish.

In 2002, a founding meeting of parishioners took place in the village of Kalinino, where it was decided to restore the parish of the Transfiguration of the Lord. In August of the same year, with the blessing of Archbishop Paisiy, the laying of a new wooden church began. Thanks to the prayers and assistance of Schema-Hegumen Iliy (Nozdrin), construction commenced. In the spring of 1942, at the age of 10, Fr. Iliy attended the Easter service in the old church and often visited there with his mother. In the summer of 2004, the first Divine Liturgy was held in the new church, which was still not fully finished, under the guidance of Fr. Iliy.
