The first stone church with altars in honor of the Transfiguration of the Lord and the Entry of the Most Holy Theotokos into the Temple was built in 1804 on the site of a burned wooden church. In 1869, a left chapel dedicated to the Meeting of the Lord was added. In 1885, the church suffered greatly from a fire, and in 1894 it was dismantled due to cracks in the walls. A new building was constructed from 1896 to 1902.

In the 1920s, the church was desecrated and closed. From 1930 to 1986, the building was used as a grain warehouse and vegetable storage, and in the early 2000s, as a shop.

In 2013, the chapel in honor of the Transfiguration of the Lord was restored, and services resumed there.
