Church of the Savior Not Made by Hands in the Three Brothers Area (lost)

Фото 1
The former estate of Three Brothers got its name from the Three Brothers Church, which, according to local legends, was built by three brothers. No traces of the church remain.

Three Brothers, previously an estate, was located on the northeastern outskirts of the village of Staroe Kolyshkino. In the first half of the 19th century, it was a small village, and by the mid-19th century, a church appeared here, which was destroyed in 1943. This place is also known as "the village of Kolyshkino" (1859). By the early 20th century, a zemstvo school and a savings and loan association were operating here. Currently, the settlement no longer exists.

On September 25, 2014, a Pilgrim Cross was consecrated on the territory of the former sanatorium "Three Brothers." An initiative group of Orthodox Christians from the village carried out significant work to prepare for the event: they found the exact location of the former church based on the remnants of the foundation, especially its altar part, landscaped the surrounding area, installed a cross and a granite slab with the inscription: "On this site stood the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord since the 17th century. Remember, O Lord, the souls of all Orthodox Christians who suffered for Faith and Fatherland." The solemn liturgy was conducted by the rector of the church in honor of Archangel Michael in the settlement of Seshcha, Priest Dmitry.
