Church of the Savior Not Made by Hands in Pryamitsyno

According to some sources, the Church of the Savior Not Made by Hands was built thanks to the efforts of landowner Blednova, whose estate was located on the site of the current children's art school. She allocated land for the construction of the church, but the exact date of its erection is unknown.

In 1930, when Orthodox churches were being destroyed en masse across the country, our church avoided this fate. Since it was located in the center of the district, local authorities prohibited its demolition, and the building was transformed into a House of Culture. From 1930 to 1992, it housed the district House of Culture.

Thanks to the efforts of the faithful, on June 19, 1992, the church was returned to the Russian Orthodox Church with the blessing of Archbishop Juvenaly (Tarasov) of Kursk and Belgorod. The residents of the village collected 1,500 signatures and appealed to the archbishop, who blessed them and directed them to the head of the regional administration. He supported the believers and allowed the return of the church building. In the same year, services resumed in the church, and repairs began after many years of neglect.

Prominent figures in the reopening of the church included Klavdiya Prokhorovna Pronina and Zoya Alexandrovna Ilyina. The central altar of the church was consecrated by Archbishop German of Kursk and Rylsk on August 29, 2005. The northern altar of Saint Barbara the Great Martyr was consecrated by the rector of the Assumption Church in the city of Kurchatov, Archpriest Roman, on December 17, 2005. The southern altar of Saint Basil the Great, Archbishop of Caesarea in Cappadocia, was consecrated by the same rector on March 30, 2006.

The church is located opposite the administration of the Oktyabrsky district. Currently, daily services are held at the parish, and there is a Sunday school for children where the Law of God and reading skills in Church Slavonic are taught. Celebrations for children are organized for Christmas, Easter, and the church's patronal feast. Catechetical discussions for adults are held before the sacraments of Baptism and Marriage.

The parish is engaged in social work, providing assistance to orphanages, a veterans' home, a psychiatric hospital, and conducting services at the Oktyabrskaya Central District Hospital. The parish priests participate annually in commemorative events dedicated to Victory Day.
