The village of Steklyannaya Raditsa is under the administrative jurisdiction of the Bryansk district. Its history spans over 250 years, and it owes its existence to Avdotya Maltseva, who brought a glass factory here in the mid-18th century.

Previously, the village housed a church dedicated to Saint Nicholas, which was destroyed after the Bolshevik revolution. Only an approximate location of its former site is known today.

The modern church is located in the building of a former store. It was established with the blessing of Archbishop Melchizedek (Lebedev) of Bryansk and Sevsk in the 1990s. Regular services resumed in the church in the summer of 2012.
