In 1650, a wooden church was built in the village of Staroe Ukolovo. In 1768, a new wooden church with chapels dedicated to the prophet Elijah and the holy martyr Paraskeva Friday was erected in its place.

In 1800, the construction of a stone church began, which was consecrated in 1809. This new church had a bell tower, a watchman's lodge, and a burial vault, as well as a chapel in honor of the holy martyr Paraskeva Friday.

In the 1930s, the church was closed by godless activists and was used as a grain storage facility. In the 1990s, restoration work began in the preserved building, and in 2005, the ancient church was restored.
