The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the village of Rozhdestvenskaya is one of the few surviving monuments of wooden architecture. It is the only wooden church in the Izobilnensky urban district, as wooden structures are rare in this region. The church has the status of a cultural heritage site of regional significance.

Cossacks, while settling new territories, often brought prefabricated wooden churches with them. Thus, in the village of Rozhdestvenskaya, a wooden church was built in 1800 with funds from local Cossacks.

The church was consecrated on September 21, 1800, in honor of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which gave the village its name. It served not only as a spiritual center but also as a fortress. During attacks by mountain dwellers, women, children, and the elderly took refuge in the church, while men defended it from the perimeter.

In the 1860s, a strong dust storm caused significant damage to the church, which stood on a hill. At a Cossack assembly, it was decided to move it to a more protected location, where it remains to this day. In 1873, a new wooden church made of red oak was built with Cossack funds, without the use of nails.

The main relics of the church are icons of Athos writing: Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker, the Quick to Hear, and the Annunciation icon, which was previously part of the iconostasis. The church has preserved wooden icons painted during its founding.
