Фото 1
The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary is located in the village of Onezhye, which is in the Knyazhpogostsky District of the Republic of Komi, Russia. The church stands on a steep bank of the Vym River.

The church was built in the 1850s and is designed in a strict classical style. Later, with funds from merchant Kozlov, a three-tiered bell tower in the Art Nouveau style was added to the church. Beautiful staircases were constructed on both sides leading to the second floor of the church, designed as enclosed galleries with arched windows. The bell tower is topped with a tall spire with a cross. The main volume of the church is adorned with five domes situated on high round drums. The bell tower is connected to the main structure through a refectory.

In 1930, the parish was abolished, and the church building was used for economic purposes until 2000, when it was returned to the Orthodox Church.

Today, the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary is active, and restoration work on the building and reconstruction of the interiors is underway.
