Kropotovo is first mentioned in 1628 as a village of the Brasovsky stan of the Komaritskaya volost, where the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary already existed.

The church, built in 1892, has two altars: one in honor of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the other in the name of Saint Nicholas.

Initially, the building was wooden, but in 1986 it was faced with brick and a brick bell tower was added. On the church grounds, there are a baptistery, a watchman's lodge, and a house for the clergy.

According to local residents' memories, in 1938, during the persecutions, the church was closed. It was first turned into a store, then a warehouse. During the war, the building was used as a stable and for other economic needs.

In 1948, the church was reopened.
