In the early 19th century, a beautiful wooden church was built and consecrated in the village of Kizilovo, part of the Polevskoy rural council in the Kursk district, in honor of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. On October 6 (October 19 in the new style) 1913, this lovingly erected church was consecrated and until 1917 was considered an annex to the Nikolskaya church of the village of V. Gutorovo.

On January 5, 1940, the presidium of the regional executive committee decided to close the church in the village. In March 1961, the regional executive committee instructed the district executive committee to seize the church from the Orthodox community and use it for cultural needs of the village.

In 1992, the residents of Kizilovo appealed to Metropolitan Juvenaly, who managed the Kursk Diocese, requesting a priest to be appointed, promising to revive the parish. The Orthodox community was registered, and the administration of the Polevskoy rural council allocated them a former cultural center building for temporary use, which was in a dilapidated state. On August 23, 1994, this building was transferred for indefinite use, and since then, services have been held there.
