On March 5, 1999, the first stone of the future Nativity of Christ Church was laid. The construction was carried out according to a project developed by the company ZhBK-1, with architect A.V. Bersenev. The church was consecrated on January 8, 2000, by Archbishop Ioann of Belgorod and Stary Oskol.

Until the mid-20th century, the residents of Vesyolaya Lopan could visit churches in neighboring villages, but by the 1960s, most of the churches in the area had been destroyed. Therefore, the construction of a new church generated great enthusiasm among the local residents.

The Nativity Church is built of brick and is a small single-domed church with a polygonal apse and a three-tiered bell tower. Above the main building, an onion-shaped dome rises on an octagonal drum, and the surrounding area is adorned with bright flowers. The church has become not only a spiritual center but also the main attraction of the village.
