The church was founded in 1901 and consecrated in 1906. It is a monument of wooden architecture with elements of Art Nouveau, which preserved the traditional structure of earlier Bryansk churches. The last rector before the church's closure was Priest Ignaty Zubor. After his death in 1930, the church was closed. Part of the church property was transferred to the Church of St. Demetrius of Thessalonica in the village of Vydrenka (now in Belarus), where local residents then went to pray. The bells were confiscated for electrification needs, the bell tower was destroyed, and in 1933 the dome was demolished. The church building, which was converted into two floors, was used as a club, village council, grain storage, and later as classrooms for a secondary school. The interior was completely altered, with only two narrow rooms remaining on either side of the porch. The Orthodox community in the village was established on August 22, 1990, and in 1991, the church building was transferred to them. Since then, with the support of the village and district administration, the restoration of the church began. In 1994, services were resumed.
