The Nativity Church in the village of Bolshoye Soldatskoye, Suzhansky district, was built in 1794 and existed until the 1930s. The church building was wooden.

According to archival data, on May 24, 1895, Deacon Pyotr Pavlovich Uspensky was appointed as the psalmist in this church. He was 53 years old and had no awards. For teaching the law of God at the Kukuyevskaya primary school, he received a salary of 60 rubles. Uspensky studied at the theological school in Oboyan and completed the 3rd grade courses. On June 14, 1908, he was appointed deacon in the same church and worked as a teacher at the church-parish school in the village of Bolshoye Soldatskoye. From 1909 to 1913, he also taught at this school, and from June 29, 1913, he became the law teacher at the Kukuyevskaya primary zemstvo school.

In the 1930s, it was decided to rebuild the wooden church in brick. The walls of the new building had already been erected, but the authorities dismantled them, and the bricks were transported to the village of Lyubimovka for the construction of a sugar factory. The wooden church building was dismantled, and its logs were used to build an oil mill, which was later converted into a residential house.

After the 1941-1945 war, the parish resumed its activities, but in the early 1950s, it was closed. Only in 1999 did services begin again in the church. On February 10, 1999, Priest Anatoly Nikolaevich Voloshin was appointed rector of the Nativity Church in the village of Bolshoye Soldatskoye. Recently, the church has noticeably transformed both externally and internally, along with the revival of faith and spiritual life among the parishioners.
