Historical documents indicate that the first Church of the Nativity of Christ in the village of Anna was built in 1788. In June 1894, the construction of a new stone Nativity church began. The construction was financed by prominent local landowners, the princes of Baryatinsky, who invested about 175 thousand rubles into the project. The final design of the church was developed by Voronezh architect S. Myslovsky. By spring 1899, the construction was completed, and a few months later, the church was consecrated in the name of the Nativity of Christ.

In the 20th century, the upper tiers of the bell tower were barbarically destroyed, and their restoration only took place in 1991 according to the project of local architect Grachev. Today, the Nativity church is a site of cultural and historical heritage of regional significance. The building of the church, executed in the ancient Byzantine style, impresses with its beauty.
