The Church of St. Sergius of Radonezh in Raditsa-Paravoznaya (destroyed)

Фото 1
The Paravoznaya church, built in 1882 in the village of Raditsa (now Raditsa-Krylovka), was affiliated with the church of the village of Gorodishche until 1895. In documents, it is also mentioned as the church in the workers' settlement of Uritsk. In 1901, two chapels were arranged in the church. Every year, two local processions were held here: on the first Sunday of the Peter's Fast in memory of the rain sent after the prayer service, and on October 1 in honor of the deliverance from cholera. A two-class church school operated in the parish.

On April 25, 1929, by the decree of the Presidium of the Bryansk Regional Executive Committee No. 60, the church was closed and repurposed first as a school and then as a cinema. Documents in the Bryansk region archive preserve records of attempts by renovators to seize the church, as well as blueprints for its conversion into a cinema. Subsequently, the building was destroyed, but the foundation remains.
