The Church of St. Sergius of Radonezh in the village of Rogovatoe was built in 2000 on the site of a church destroyed in the 1940s.

The first church in Rogovatoe was constructed in 1673-1674. In 1810, the construction of a stone church began, and on September 25, 1818, the main altar, dedicated to the Life-Giving Trinity, was consecrated with a solemn service.

Since the 1830s, regular repair work was carried out in the church. In 1835, the old roof was replaced, and in 1841, the iconostasis was updated. A large bell for the church was gifted by Empress Catherine II.

By the early 20th century, the church shone with gold and colors, as both altar iconostases and all interior paintings were restored in 1900. After the October Revolution, the new authorities twice attempted to seize the shrine: in 1922 during the confiscation of church valuables and in the 1940s when the church was blown up.

The Church in honor of St. Sergius of Radonezh was built in 2000 and consecrated by Archbishop John of Belgorod and Stary Oskol on October 6 of the same year.

In the village of Rogovatoe, near the church, there is an ancient holy spring known to the people as 'Jordan.'
