The Temple of St. Sergius of Radonezh in the village of Maloe Gorodishche was built in the early 20th century on the site of a wooden church from the 19th century. It was restored in 2009-2010 and is now considered an architectural monument.

Previously, there was a wooden church in the center of the village, consecrated in 1806. The stone temple was constructed in 1907 by the efforts of 12 visiting craftsmen and local residents. It was the last church in the Novoskolsky district built before the October Revolution of 1917. The church had three entrances with porches and staircases: western, southern, and northern. Services were held until 1932.

In the early 1930s, the church was closed, and the building was used as a grain storage facility. After the war, the bell tower was dismantled, and quality bricks were sold to local residents for building stoves and other needs.

For a long time, the church remained in a semi-ruined state: there was no roof, but the dome vaults, grilles, and old glass blocks in the windows were preserved, as well as fragments of ancient wall paintings. In 2009, a decision was made to restore it. In 2010, the church was fully restored and opened for parishioners on November 4.

Currently, the church has three chapels: the central one dedicated to St. Sergius of Radonezh, the right one in honor of Blessed Xenia of St. Petersburg, and the left one dedicated to Archangel Michael.

The church also houses a reliquary with particles of the relics of the holy servants of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra.
