On January 3, 2004, the administration of Kurchatov temporarily provided a former summer cinema building for worship. Thanks to the efforts of the parishioners, the space was quickly converted into a church, and the first Divine Liturgy was held there on January 15. In 2005, a one-tier iconostasis with canonical icons was installed in the church.

On July 31, 2007, Abbess Sergia, the head of the Holy Trinity Diveyevo Monastery, handed over a relic of St. Seraphim of Sarov with the blessing of Patriarch Alexy II. On May 25, 2006, Metropolitan Vladimir of Kyiv and all Ukraine transferred 90 relics of the holy fathers of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra to the parish. The church also houses icons with relics of great saints: Nicholas the Wonderworker, Apostle Andrew the First-Called, Great Martyr Panteleimon, Saints Innocent of Kherson, Guriy of Kazan, Joasaph of Belgorod, Confessor Luka of Crimea, St. Kuksha of Odessa, and others.

On January 3, 2007, Archbishop German of Kursk and Rylsk conducted an archpastoral liturgy. On June 5, 2007, he consecrated the cornerstone and the site of the future church.

On August 30, 2007, by the decree of Archbishop German, the parish was given the chapel of Great Martyr George the Victorious in the village of Dichnya. The parish of the Seraphim Church established an iconostasis with painted icons in the chapel. The chapel contains icons of St. Agapitus the Physician of the Caves and St. Kuksha of Odessa with relics of the saints.

On July 19, 2010, the main dome was raised. On August 1, 2013, on the feast day of St. Seraphim of Sarov and the Assembly of Kursk Saints, Metropolitan German blessed the rector of the church, Archpriest Nikolai Goenko, for the consecration of the bells and their installation on the bell tower. On September 22, 2013, Metropolitan German consecrated the newly built church.
