The Temple of Ilya Muromets in the village of Beregovoe is the first and currently the only temple dedicated to this legendary hero in the Central Black Earth region.

By the blessing of Archbishop John of Belgorod and Stary Oskol, the construction of the Temple of St. Ilya Muromets in the village of Beregovoe, Prokhorovsky District, began in the autumn of 2004, in honor of the 60th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Until that moment, there was no temple in the village.

The first services were held in the temple on September 26, 2005, and its solemn consecration took place on May 9, 2006. The date of the consecration and the patron of the temple were chosen deliberately, in memory of the ancestors who stood at the origins of Orthodox Russia and faithfully served the Fatherland. Currently, a similar temple exists only in one of the military towns of Yekaterinburg.

The temple holds prayers for conscripts from the Prokhorovsky District before their departure to the Armed Forces of Russia.
