The parish was founded in 1996. Services were held in a room of the administrative building of the Regional Medical and Social Rehabilitation Center of St. Theodosius of the Caves in Kursk.

Construction of the temple in First Moscow began in 2010. A stone church was built with an elongated single-domed base, topped with a pyramid of small domes on a hipped roof. In 2015, the dome was installed, and the consecration of the temple took place on February 16, 2020.
