The Church of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary was built in the early 20th century a few kilometers from the village of Volchya Alexandrovka. Who exactly financed the construction remains unknown, as documentary evidence has not survived. It is likely that they were lost in the 1930s when the Soviet authorities closed the parish and transferred the building to a collective farm.

From an architectural standpoint, the church is a striking example of eclecticism. The main volume of the building is shaped like a cross with a two-story central part topped by a four-pitched dome and five domes on centric drums. Through the refectory located in the left aisle, the building connects to a three-tiered bell tower. The external decoration of the church stands out, rich in masonry decor, including pointed window frames and column-like decorative edges.

Today, the church has been fully restored and renovated, and regular services are held there.
