The first service in the Church of the Intercession of the Holy Virgin, which has one altar, took place in 1896. In the early 20th century, Priest Dmitry Rusovsky served here.

In the 1930s, the priest was sentenced and sent into exile for 10 years, and the parish was abolished. In 1943, Father Dmitry returned, the church was reopened, but services were only held near the altar, as the main part of the church was partitioned off and used as a grain storage. Throughout the rest of his life, Father Dmitry faced oppression and threats. The authorities insisted on closing the parish, but the priest did not give up, and the church remained active until 1961, when Father Dmitry passed away. After his death, the church was closed, the bells were thrown down, and the bell tower was destroyed, with the spire and cross torn off by tractors.

The parish was reopened in 1991 thanks to the efforts of Ivan Fedorovich Azarenkov, Ivan Pavlovich Novokhatsky, and other local residents. The first archpastoral service after the revival and reconstruction of the church was conducted by Archbishop Juvenaly (Tarasov) of Kursk and Rylsk on November 20, 1996.
