The history of the church in the village of Uglovoe is closely intertwined with the history of the village itself. It was founded in the early 1890s as an inn on the route between Vladivostok and the village of Nikolskoye, as well as a settlement for miners working in the coal mines. As the village grew, the residents began to care about opening a school and building a church.

In March 1900, permission was granted for the construction of the church, and a building committee was approved. The consecration of the church's foundation was conducted by Bishop Eusebius of Vladivostok and Kamchatka on October 14, 1903. The construction cost 35,000 rubles, and its completion was made possible thanks to the help of parishioners and entrepreneurs. The altar was consecrated in honor of the Intercession of the Holy Virgin on January 24, 1910.

After the consecration of the church, its improvement continued, presumably until 1913. During this time, thanks to the efforts of the clergy, liturgical books and utensils were acquired. The church was a tall brick building with a wooden dome, built in the style of 17th-century Russian architecture. To the left of the building was a wooden bell tower.

By the decree of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church on January 31, 1913, an independent parish was established, which operated until the 1930s. The first rector was Priest Feodor Slepop. At the same time, on December 24, 1913, a new school building was solemnly consecrated, which had been located in rented premises since 1905.

In 1935, the bell tower was destroyed, and the dome was removed. The authorities attempted to blow up the church building, but this failed, and it was adapted into a cinema. Since 1972, the building has not been used.

On May 25, 1990, by the decision of the Artemovsk city executive committee, the former cinema building "Mir" was transferred to the community of the Russian Orthodox Church for restoration and renovation. From that moment, services resumed, and restoration work began, which continues to this day. Since 1997, all work has been carried out under the guidance of the parish rector, Archpriest Sergey Biryuk. During the years of Soviet power, all photographs and drawings of the building were lost. The modern appearance of the church was achieved thanks to the project by architect V. N. Demidov, carried out by the Primstroy NIIproject team.

On June 5, 2000, Archbishop Benjamin consecrated the main dome of the church with a gilded cross, which was then installed on the main drum. On April 8, 2006, the archbishop consecrated a set of bells, the largest of which weighs 1,640 kg, and the cupola of the bell tower with a cross. On the same day, the bells were raised and installed on the bell tower, and the church found its voice.

On June 13, 2011, Archbishop Benjamin performed the Great Consecration of the church and the Altar. The restoration of the historical appearance of the church involved parishioners, entrepreneurs, and residents of the Artemovsk district and Primorsky Krai. On April 19, 2015, a new iconostasis was consecrated in the church by Metropolitan Benjamin of Vladivostok and Primorye, made by craftsmen from Volgodonsk from artificial stone with handmade icons. Thus, along with external restoration work, the internal and external appearance of the church is changing and transforming.
