The parish was founded in the 1830s by peasant settlers from the internal provinces. In 1849, the residents were transferred to the Cossack estate. The church is located on the small river Ternovka, a tributary of the river Yei. The communal land totals 36,720 desyatins. A hospital is under construction and a medical site is being opened. It is 150 versts to Yekaterinodar, 3 versts to the Poroshinskaya railway station on the Tsaritsyn branch, 21 versts to the Tikhoretskaya station where a doctor is located, 20 versts to the Tikhoretskaya stanitsa, 21 versts to Arkhangelskaya, 24 versts to Novopokrovskaya, 17 versts to Kalnibolotskaya, 11 versts to the Nikolevsky farm, 26 versts to Ilyinskaya, and 14 versts to the Novopokrovsk forestry. Correspondence is sent through the Poroshinskaya railway station.
The Pokrovskaya church was built in 1833, expanded with chapels in 1882, and in 1892 a brick refectory and a wooden bell tower were added. The fence is iron and lattice. The church funds amount to 2,092 rubles, of which 1,000 rubles were donated by the deceased foreman M. Yermolaev for church-parish schools. There is no church land. The clergy consists of two priests, one deacon, and two psalmists. The state salary is: for the first priest 121 rubles 42 kopecks, for the second priest 90 rubles, and for the two psalmists 45 rubles each. The parish land totals 161¼ desyatins. There is a church house for one priest, which is occupied by the second priest I. Donich.
The parish has two church-parish schools. The first is located in a church building worth 4,000 rubles, the second is in a rented house and is funded by public means (in 1909 this amounted to 629 rubles). There are also ministerial schools: one two-class and three one-class. The salary of the religious instructor in the two-class school is 160 rubles, in the one-class women's school, 60 rubles. According to church data, the population is: in the Ternovskaya stanitsa 7,413 people (including 26 representatives of the "New Israel" sect and 42 Old Believers), in the attached Nikolevsky farm (9 versts away, populated by Cossacks and outsiders) 643 people, totaling 8,056 people. In the stanitsa: in the Ternovskaya stanitsa 12,100 souls, 1,433 households, in the Nikolevsky farm 810 souls, 115 households, totaling 12,910 souls, 1,548 households. There were 804 births, 124 marriages, and 580 deaths recorded.
