The only Old Believer church in the Belgorod region is located in the hamlet of Rovno in the Pokrovsky district.

This hamlet was founded by Old Believers in the 18th century. From its founding until the early 20th century, there was a wooden prayer house covered with reeds. In 1905, soldiers returning from the Russo-Japanese War began construction of a new church on a stone foundation with a bell tower, dedicated to the Intercession of the Holy Virgin. By 1908, the construction of the church with a small refectory and bell tower was completed, and in the same year, the church was consecrated.

In 1930, the church was closed and used as a barn. Services resumed after the area was liberated from German occupiers. In the mid-1990s, the church was granted the status of an architectural monument, becoming the only wooden architecture monument from the early 20th century in the region. In 2006, the building was renovated.
